The question that decides it is usually not appearance, it is exposure and how long you intend to own the building. A system that is cheaper to install and shorter lived can be the right answer, and sometimes it is not.
Tile and metal are the two that come up most often here for longevity. Tile can be set on Tile Bond Foam for the highest wind rating; metal, in one customer's words, has been through three hurricanes without issue.

What the choice does to your warranty
Most projects carry a five year workmanship warranty. Tile installations carry an extended eight year warranty, so the system you pick changes the workmanship cover you get.
The material warranty is separate and depends on installation. CBS is a Master Elite GAF installer and works to manufacturer guidelines specifically so the product warranties stay valid.
