Chapter 01
What gets looked at, and why from the ladder
A real inspection happens on the roof. From the ground you can see missing shingles and obvious storm damage, and that is about where ground level stops being useful.
The company's own advice after severe weather is to check for visible signs from the ground and avoid climbing up, because a storm damaged roof may not be safe to walk. That is exactly the point at which somebody insured and certified should be the one going up.

Findings are documented with photographs. That record is what an insurer works from, and it is what supports an insurance credit on work that follows.
It also gives you a baseline. A roof photographed this year is a roof you can compare against after the next storm, instead of arguing from memory.
Chapter 03
How often a Sarasota roof is worth re-checking
CBS's own guidance is to schedule regular inspections so early damage gets caught, to keep the gutters clear, to trim back branches over the roof, and to deal with repairs quickly rather than waiting.
The other trigger is weather. After severe weather it is worth checking for damage and booking an assessment if anything looks wrong, because hidden leaks and compromised materials are not always visible straight away.
